I have changed the blue lamps to clear and replace the Police livery with a plain reflective stripe and chequers. The only down side is people slam on there brakes when they see you in their mirrors and start traveling below the …

Just re read your post… what did they nick you for and were you formally charged?

  8. bentleybloke on November 18th, 2009

No, I think its down to how I ride. I dont give anyone reason to stop me.

Ever been pulled in by the fuzz on this? Got nicked on my one with no blue lights and no lights running at all! Was outraged!

Yes… the only down side is people slam on their brakes in the 30 zone and drive at 25MPH!

No not for “on road” use. They can be used on “off road” or on private land. I am going to swap these for white lenses with orange bulbs or I might just wire them to the brake light. I am in the process of joining or starting a blood runners group for the North West so might be fitting a message matrix and the blues back on soon!

No Just the standard pipes. Possibly its how the camcorder recorded it. The bike is really quiet.

That sounds a little throatier than mine, does it have aftermarket pipes?

Lighting is not legal on UK roads. Check RVLR 1989.

Rear flashing red for Police use only.

If blue/white tape retroflective then this illegal on front and rear.

    HTH.

Sorry but you are missing the point!!! its not meant to catch people! Its used for leading cycle races or events. This is no longer a police vehicle.
