Either way, they were both in the wrong. Your right about one thing though, this garbage is helping Letterman’s ratings. I haven’t watched him for the better part of ten years and I tuned in the other night because of this. Watched a short segment where a rather uncomfortable looking Steve Martin and Martin Short were on. Maybe it was my imagination but it looked like both of them couldn’t wait to get the show over with.

For example - google how many nights he lampooned the SC Governor for infidelity knowing that while he was in a 20 year relationship with his girlfriend (now wife) he’d been porking his 20 something staffers. This Pallin thing pales in comparison. My understaning is Letterman never wrote the joke and he took it for granted the information contained in that joke was correct.
